I’m the creator of Chiaroscuro, where I write about an array of topics, ranging from philosophy and psychology to fashion and food. Underlying all my interests is my passion for understanding people and how they live. I’m fascinated by the beauty and connections found in everyday life, and my goal is to highlight and share them in personal and meaningful ways.

it’s just getting started, and i’m already tired.

story of my final week.

studying together is like the only “fun” way to study, if there ever was. Although I’m not sure how much of the studying last night actually helped on today’s final. What else is new?

At least I’m done with the longer paper of the two. Yay. Schedule for the rest of the week:

Tonight: write up take-home final for PhilLit

Tues: turn in paper + final for PhilLi, write paper for Metaphysics, study for metaphysics midterm, and LSAT class

Wed: turn in paper for metaphysics, take meta midterm, start studying for logic

Thurs: start packing, finish logic, LSAT, random shit i have to take care of.

Fri: hopefully a trip to southpoint and relax.

Sat: logic final, finish packing?

Weekend: possibly going to Atlanta to pick up mom’s car?

My Sister’s Keeper – the movie

So apparently the movie is coming out for this book that I read for the freshman summer reading. I wouldn’t say the book had great literary values, though it does present an interesting, and poignant, ethical dillema. Of course, the fact that Abigail Breslin is starring as Anna makes me want to see it even more. The trailer was cute 🙂

LDOC

Truth to be told, I don’t get all the fuss with LDOC. I’ve been here for three years now, and I still fail to comprehend why anyone would wait for more than half a hour, in a line stretched across the entire residential lawn, just to get a free t-shirt. I know it’s LDOC shirt, but honestly, what’s so great about it? It’s certainly not aesthetically, or fashionably superior. So I suppose it’s the…sentimental qualities, but still does not lead me to a greater degree of comprehension. What can be so special about a tshirt, that just says we are done with classes? Well, maybe I’m missing something big here. Maybe the mystery will unfold in my final year of Duke, because it certainly hasn’t so far.

In any case, the wind is getting on my nerves. But there’s Ben Folds to watch tonight. So maybe that’ll make up for the windchill, I hope.

Mostly I’m just happy that I’m done with 8:30 classes. That’s a biggie.
